He conocido personas a las
que se les cierra el mundo cuando llega alguna enfermedad, cuando pasan los
años, cuando muere un ser querido. Sienten que las posibilidades se les han
terminado. Mas siguiendo con la valiosa idea de que toda persona se puede
convertir en un “Creador de posibilidades”, les compartiré una historia muy sencilla
y muy hermosa, que seguramente será una inspiración.
Ella está a punto de cumplir noventa años
de vida. A esa edad, no son pocas las
personas que han olvidado sus sueños, y se han sentado a esperar que la muerte
venga para llevarlos a algún otro lugar lejano. He visto gente de veinte años
menos, con la mirada perdida y una ausencia mental de todas las cosas de este
mundo. Pero la vida de Doña Aurelia Cruz
Trujillo, y más que la vida, la actitud, es
una verdadera canción a la magia de conservar el espíritu joven y la
disposición a enfrentar las pruebas con valentía y decisión.
Doña Aure nació en Santiago Tenango,
población que se encuentra a una hora de la ciudad de Oaxaca. Toda su vida se dedicó a trabajar el campo,
faena que por supuesto no fue fácil en ningún momento, y especialmente fue
difícil hacerlo durante los años en que estuvo embarazada en espera de los doce
hijos que tuvo.
Cuando cumplió setenta años, hizo un viaje
a la ciudad de Reynosa, en el estado de Tamaulipas, para visitar a tres de sus
hijos que viven allá. Durante ese viaje,
tuvo la oportunidad de aprender a preparar nieve. Es necesario subrayar que ella tenía ya
setenta años, pero eso no la hizo dudar ni un segundo sobre la oportunidad de
aprender algo nuevo, algo que tal vez hasta ese momento ni siquiera tenía
considerado. Ella supo darse cuenta de
que al aprender esto, se abría una nueva
posibilidad en su vida.
Y es así como desde hace veinte años ya,
esta valiosa mujer ha fabricado y vendido su propia nieve. Y por cierto, ¡es deliciosa! : )

Con el producto de su trabajo, Doña Aure
ha hecho un sinnúmero de cosas para ayudar a cubrir las necesidades de su
familia, pero debo mencionar que también sostuvo la carrera profesional de una
de sus nietas, gracias a su habilidad para preparar deliciosa nieve y a su
espíritu valiente y emprendedor.

I have met people whose world collapses
when they get a disease, when years pass by, when a loved one passes away. They
feel that possibilities have ended. But continuing with the idea that any
person can become a “Creator of possibilities”, I will share with you a short
and beautiful story that will surely be an inspiration.
She’s about to turn 90 years old.
At that age, not a few people have forgotten their dreams, and have sat to wait
for death to come and take them anywhere else. I have seen people 20 years
younger, staring blankly and mentally absent of the things of this world. But
the life of Mrs. Aurelia Cruz Trujillo, and more than her life, her attitude, is a true song to the magic of
keeping a young spirit, and the willingness to front trials with courage and
determination.
Mrs. Aure was born on Santiago
Tenango, one hour away from Oaxaca City. All her life she worked in the
field, chore that of course was never easy, and it was especially difficult
while she was pregnant waiting for the twelve children she had.
When she turned 70, she made a
trip to the city of Reynosa, in the state of Tamaulipas, to visit three of her
children who live there. During that trip, she had the opportunity to learn how
to make ice cream. It is important to highlight that she was already seventy
years old, but that didn’t make her hesitate not even for a second about the
opportunity to learn something new, something that maybe she had not
even considered before. She realized that after learning this, a new possibility would be opened in her life.
And that is how since 20 years
already, this valuable woman has made and sold her own ice cream. And by the
way, it is delicious! : )
With the fruit of her work, Mrs.
Aure has done countless things to help satisfying the needs of her family, but
I have to mention that she also covered the tuition fees of the professional
career of one of her grand-daughters, thanks to her ability of preparing
delicious ice-cream, her courage and her entrepreneur spirit.
